Shabbat Fusion sponsored by Generation Aleph
Category :: Young Adult
Once a month, approximately 75 young adults, and others, gather to experience a Shabbat evening of prayers, song and study like no other. Five musicians bring tribal rhythms from the Ugandan Jewish community, joyful niggunim from the Chassidic influence of Shlomo Carlebach, and riffs of New Orleans jazz and retrofunk.
Everything old is new again with this eclectic mix of sounds that gets the crowd up and dancing to welcome in the Shabbat bride with the words of Lecha Dodi.
Following the Service, Generation Aleph hosts a kiddush of good Israeli wine and sushi for those in their 20s and 30s.
